AV for the client?

OK if the Server has AV program installed should all the client PC also have an AV program.
If so should they both have the same AV program installed.
Can the Server have Norton and the Client PC have AVG?

I know where I work the server and each computer share the same AV program. I think it is probably not a good idea for a computer to have a different version on it than the server has, this might cause complications. But, yes each computer needs to have AV on it, the AV on the server protects the server.

Well, if that's what he intended to say, then I agree with you. My interpretation was that he was saying, in his first statement, that one installation of the AV program on the server would protect both the server and the client computers.

 

OK let's backup..
1st : if there is a AV on the server, do the clients need to install an AV?
2nd : If the client also need an AV, Do they need to be from the same Co.?
If the server has Norton, can I have AVG on my clients?
