I am on my way to work, but before I leave have a quick question.

Tried running Avast full scan this morning. When it showed it was done, said had over 1000 files it could not scan. What am I doing wrong? Settings?
    Running XPHome.
    Thanks
    Gal

its quite normal for this to happen AFAIK.. AVG does the same, some of the othes like McAfee auto skip those files.

Yep - I've never had 1000 but I always have a bunch. -- sometimes before a scan I'll go down the right hand side of the scan box to the bottom icon -- looks like a folder.(it will say, folder selection, and then you can tell it to scan certain folders by checking the boxes -- and leave off ones like, spybot, drivers, etc. that I know it won't scan anyway...just to save time)
