Avast

anyone have an opinion on this one. I found it a bit more thorough than AVG

 

I have and do use Avast I prefer it to AVG and AntiVir... My only complaint is that there seems a conflict with Avast and Zonealarm.... So I use Sygate instead...

It works for me...

The only issue between avast and ZA, is if you are using ZA pro. ZA pro has a built in web checker (my lame interpertation).....which conflicts with avast's "web scanner". I run both ZA (home) and Avast, no issues.

 

Actually,

I just installed ZA and the conflict is in the "Web shield". It instructs you on how to keep Web shield acxtive with ZA by changing something in the proxy in "internet settings" to transparent. That seemed to clear it right up.

Buyt there's a whole new debate there, lol. Sygate or Zone Alarm? Which performs better.

 

Good question... In my experience, they are both relatively user friendly. ZoneAlarm even more so. I however like all the pretty graphs & such on Sygate....
I have used ZA with AVG with no ill effects.
They will both do what you need them to do...
