Ok, no problem! Lets back up your registry.

    1) Click Start > Run > Type in regedt32

    2) When Registry Editor opens, click File and then Export. When it comes up asking to save, choose a name, call it RegBackup. This will export a copy of your current registry settings to the location of your choice. I would save to desktop temporarily. After you have completed this then procede to my steps in removing the entry.

If you have any further problems or questions about this feel free to ask.

OK so running 2AV's is not good I will would rather get rid of NAV + NIS - they came as NIS'03, I cannot update them anyway.... lets just say I borrowed the disk of a mate (I know I shouldn't have  )

    My concerns:
I have read a few discussions here + other sites, & all say NIS is a bugger to unistall (or a least can be).
If I get rid of Norton altogether + run AVG. AVG is only anti-virus, what about Internet Security ? I have XP with SP2 is that good enough ?
How do I get AVG to be the main man if I remove Norton?

Fisrt, Try to uninstall Norton from Add/Remove Programs. If you have any problems doing this then run these tools. Rnav & Rnis. These tools will work for versions up to 2003 Pro. They will remove EVERYTHING relating to Norton.

Now, WinXP SP2 is good BUT I still would use a firewall with the antivirus. Be sure if you use a different firewall, to disable the Windows Firewall so you dont get any conflicts. There are many good ones but some cost. Personally I use ZoneAlarm, but this one cost. PP or Chaslang may have some they can recommend that are good a free. I will ask them to for you.:)

Was just reading how to backup reg keys in my notes (asking you is easier :D )
Done... Spybot reports no problems - NO immediate threats were found.
Thanks, also no other errors PC wise with regards to reg deleting.
Should I delete the reg key backup?
FunWebProducts was something to do with a screen saver?

I do have another query about running processes, but is this the right forum?
I appear to be running msmsgs.exe which is MS Messanger - I've never used it. What is the best way to stop it....other than the quick 'End Process' through task mgr ?

FunWebProducts have a lot of software:

    My Web Search
    Smiley Central
    Cursor Mania
    Fun Buddy Icons
    My Mail Stationery
    My Mail Signature
    My Mail Stamps
    Popular Screensavers

The reg backup, if you have NO problems I would delete it.

If you do NOT use it, you can disable the service, is it MSN or Windows Messenger?

OK so I am good for Spyware (i.e clean for now :p to all you spyware programmers)
What is the diff between AV and Internet Security ?
Dependant on price may go for AVG + Zone Alarm ? Is this a good choice?

Thanks Dr.C will look at those :D

I believe msmsgs.exe is MSN Messanger - wife uses Hotmail could it be from that ?

AV is AntiVirus, this is your antivirus from norton, the Internet Security is your firewall, privacy control, parental control & intrusion detection. ZoneAlarm will do this for you.

If its MSN Messenger, just open the program and select Tools from the menu, and select Options. Go to the General Tab and uncheck all in the Sign In box. This should fix this issue.

I still can't get rid of funweb products!!! Is it because an IM screen name is using them?

I have fixed the Funwebproducts. Not only do you have to go into S-1-5-19, I finally fixed it by going into all the S-1-18, 19, etc. extensions because funwebproducts shows up under "Software" on all of the extensions!! I re-ran spybot and it's gone!! So, check all your S- softwares in kyey users (run, regedt32) Thanks, for the help.
