Average Temperature...?

    Here's my setup:

    Nvidia 8200 motherboard
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 5800+ with Big Typhoon cooling
    4.00gb PNY game RAM
    Nvidia BFG 280 GTX OC
    BFG 800W power supply

    My temps are reading:
    SYS = 46 C
    CPU = 44 C

    Are these good temperatures to run at? I just rebuilt this computer and my case is big but has small fans on it. I know the CPU is reading good using the compound that came with the Big Typhoon fan. Im just concerned with the system temp, are these readings average?

    nothing to worry about with those temps.

    Oh, ok. Last time my computer fried it was apparently due to it overheating but I had it OC'd a little bit. I did let it sit a little longer and the system temp got to 51. I suppose that is still okay?

    people have different preferences, but generally speaking anything under 60 degrees for the cpu is safe. The system should be running cooler then the cpu. 51 degrees seems a bit warm, but its not dangerous.

    HI

    I will echo what Gimp mentions on temps, although I will just mention to make sure the inside of your PC is clean and tidy and you have good cable managment with cables out of direct airflow from fans to maximize airflow, also tell us what directions your case fans are blowing air as you can cause some negitive air pockets by having fans blowing air at each other over one drawing air in and the other expelling air.

    Also a factor is room temp, so whats general room temps?

    Well I did keep the wires tuck together close as possible. The one problem I figure out I think is something I should of realized before. The CPU fan is huge, it reaches almost to the side of the case. The side case fan (which acts as an intake fan) is directly in front of the CPU fan. The fan on the rear acts as an exhaust fan. So what I've been doing is just put a tiny little box fan down there with the side of the case off and have the fan blowing directly into the case... Which obviously keeps it really cool but I can't think of what to do unless I buy another case...

    Hi

    Sounds like your fan positioning is fine and all going in the right direction to maximum airflow. Is case inside a desk space or does it have enough space around it for airflow, cases inside some PC desk spaces dont have addiquate airflow to the case.

    What Thermal Paste did you use? using something like Arctic Sliver or similar can help reduce temps of CPu by a few degs.

    My Core2Duo is running at 49c and with a aluminium case, 4 case fans and a huge Zalman copper HSF, max cables tidy, but I know some temp is coming from the 4 HDDs I have an a 8800gts, but not getting an temp issues and BSODs lockups etc, so temp well within specs, which yours is too.

    Here is a link that may help heatsink-guide.com/maxtemp. I know this post is kinda outdated but I don't get to this section that often. However that will be changing as I plan on doing some things that will require me to post here ( that is if I have questions ).
