AVG Free 2013

I have avg free on my win 7 machine and I am encountering this problem. AVG warns me that I should change my search engine to avg safe search instead of..(insert google,bing,yahoo etc).. I thought avg is supposed to protect me from BHO's has avg become one itself?? Try posting this question in avg's forum and the thread gets closed.. I like AVG but will change if I have to any answers or suggestions?? If this is in the wrong forum...please excuse and move it has become frustrating.. Thank you

 

I'm using Firefox 18.0.1 I disabled avg safe search and rebooted my system. It has not reoccurred.But am open to any and all solutions to an other virus protection prg. Thank u

 

Pardon my jumping in here, but my favorite choices are Avast and Microsoft Security Essentials, I have Avast on 2 and MSE on 3 and never had any problems,,,,,, so far.

Hi, I stay away from 'AVG'. It is nothing but problems. I like 'Microsoft Essentials and Avast. I also use 'Spy blaster'.:cool waterbug

I use AVG Free on several computers, and I am quite happy with it.

It does sometimes produce a pop-up recommending AVG Safe Search, but I automatically click on the Decline button when that happens.
