AVG Free Edition Has Become a Resource Hog................

    I uninstalled AVG/installed Avast today and see that it uses about 1/2 the memory of AVG.

    Yes, AVG free is now a resource hog, though there are ways to minimize resource usage by configuration tweaking.

    I personally have used Comodo Internet Security Free (AV and firewall) for years. I'm running it on an ancient computer, and it definitely is VERY light on system resources!
