AVG lap top. Help needed please!

I can not remove AVG from my lap top, help needed please!

 

I would question why you would desire to do so. AVG free is probably in the top 3 freeware anti-virus programs.

You'll want to follow these steps:

Start > Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program

Select AVG, and click on "uninstall".

 

The answer is! It does not down load completely! I thought if I uninstall it, and re-try, it would install. Incidently,It does not show in the uninstall program!

 

I recall a post from some time ago about being on dial-up.

I believe it was. Using Windows Add/Remove Programs doesn't completely remove AVG and you run into problems if you try to re-install AVG. AVG Remover should be used.

In the other thread about dial-up, I believe I suggested Internet Download Manager which can resume broken downloads and time outs typical of what happens on dial-up and using the standard browser download. I'm on broadband and I still use IDM because it beats the pants off of the browser and any other download manager I've tried and it's NEVER corrupted a download.
