   I have downloaded the AVG Rootkit from the grisoft today. I intend on running this program to scan my PC for any rootkits lurking in my system.
   Is this a straight forward piece of software to use?

   Yes it is simple to run. Interpreting output from tools like this however is not necessarily straight forward.
