    Hello,

While on my laptop yesterday AVG popped up with a notify that I had Trojan horse Generic29.AFNB and then gave its usual options to delete or quarantine it. I tried them all and in came another AVG popup that the system would become unstable or crash - proceed anyway?

Whoa. I dropped everything I was doing to look into this.

I did notice previously some odd things like the internet connection would suddenly cut off (never happened before), but then the webpage would reload so I thought that it was just a blip and that I have to update my Windows. Or that I would get a message when I booted up the laptop that the "XPS service not started"? What is that?

I tried to google "Trojan horse Generic29.AFNB and I got lots of sites offering tips to remove it but when I clicked through I got websites with models or celebrity news -weird random stuff.

So here are my attachments per your "Read and Run Me First" & your "Vista & Windows 7 Malware Removal Cleaning Procedures" posts - hope I got everything right.:-o

Can you please help me? All of my life's work is on this laptop. Many thanks!

I am not finding any malware in any of your logs. However, you have these running:
    avast! Free Antivirus
    AVG 2011
    ZoneAlarm Security

You should only have one AV program installed.

Now tell me what issues you are having after removing all but one AV program.

Will do. In the meantime, can you please recommend the best antivirus to use? Even if I have to pay for it?

Also can you recommend the best anti malware?

Thanks again and will back with outcome.

Avast is good. AVG is a pain to uninstall in some cases. MBAM is good for spyware. We will discuss this when we know you are clean.
