avg temp

hey i just recently bought a intel 3.0ghz and a asus p4c800-e deluxe board, what is the average temp for the p4, my cpu is running at 55 - 58 and my board temp is 34 im just using the fans that i got with it

 

depends on whether it's a northwood or presscott

 

You can probably get a pretty good idea of what temps others are getting from this page.

 

its a prescott and im just using the hsf that came with it i leave me pc on 24/7 it idles around early 50's and loaded it goes near 60, ive been reading up on them and they say thats average but not too worry, anyone else get a new hsf or getting the same temps as me and not worryin about it ? oh and btw its the middle of winter where im from and my room is always roasting, no rads on and window open, can save some money on heating lol

 

see other post "P4 Prescott heat problems" for my advice about these processors overheating. Get a TAC case, or modify your case to make it TAC compliant

scope: be careful, i would read the other post, especially when you're running your p4 prescott 3.0Ghz 24/7 you need to consider getting a TAC case, or you have what happened to me last summer when i was on 24/7 (cpu + mobo died) ;-(
