I was just wondering if you had any advice relating to the result I receive from my AVG scan:

    1 error:
C:\system32\drivers\etc\hosts... result - reading error, status - error.

Is this something I should be concerned about? I have received this message a couple of times now after my weekly scheduled AVG scan.

    Thanks,

    Michelle

No! It just means that you are probably locking your hosts file with some other program. And are you sure about the location? It should be

    C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

    or

    C:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

depending how you named the Windows folder during installation.

Thanks a lot. That eases my mind. I will just ignore, and I did have a typing error - I forgot to put the word "windows\" in the location. Thanks again.
