AVG9 resident shield wont work

I have AVG9 installed on all computers and it works fine on mine but it wont work on my hubby's laptop...he's using a ibm thinkpad windows xp ccleaner malwarebytes and windows firewall...I have uninstalled this at least 6 or 7 times and when I reinstall it its fine but the next time I go into the laptop its not working...I've clicked the box to deactivate it and saved then rebooted then clicked it to activate it and rebooted and it still wont work...can anyone help? Thanks so much.

Had the very same problem on my sons computer, and guess what, he had dragged in a little nasty when downloading it, which prevents the shield from working properly, i had to do a full clean out for him, so i'm sorry if i've worried you a little but you may have done the same !

 

I've cleaned his laptop thoroughly...top to bottom inside n out...uninstalled it so many times...I'm just saying screw it...I put something else on it...antivir...we'll see how that works...
