i am experiencing a few problems
running XP pro sp3 all current, i use supperantispyware 4.21 & AVG 8.0
    1. When i run a scan with avg 8.0 it will hang up & say
"AVGScanx.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close"
i click ok and avg says it has scanned zerro files and that the start time & end time are the exact same time, even though it will have scanned some files before problem. ive tryed uninstall - reinstall but it still does the same thing.
    please help.
also noticed f8 will no longer work to boot into safe mode and i have to use boot options in msconfig.
i ran a hijackthis in regular mode and a AVG scan in safe mode.
Here are the logs please help Thank you very much in advance.

If you are having malware issues then please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions. This doesn't sound malware related but anything is possible with malware. To rule out malware I would follow the procedure for your OS and attach the requested logs.

    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
    Notes:
    1. If you run into problems trying to run theREAD & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can run steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
