I have an AVI with 2 audio streams. The default stream is in Italian and the secondary stream is English. I can play the file on my PC by using a media player that supports multiple languages, and selecting the correct stream, but how can I completely remove the Italian stream from the file? My home DVD player plays DivX/XVid files, and when this AVI is played on it, I can only get Italian. I want to remove the Italian so I can play it on the big screen TV. Virtual Dub maybe?
    Thanks.

Not sure about VirtualDub, but in VirtualDubMod, you can go to "Streams" -> "Stream list" and manipulate audio there. Then save the file in "Direct stream copy" mode.

Google Virtual Dub Mod and look for a link to Videohelp.com or Doom9.org or even Afterdawn, these are safe places to download freeware audio and video tools as well as find tutorials for almost anything you want to do with them.

After you install V Dub Mod open it and load your avi, if you get a warning about vbr audio thats another story but basically skip it (if you end up with audio out of sync thats another tutorial, vbr to cbr audio). Under the Video Tab set it to Direct Stream (very important, forgeting will get you a 40gig avi, Direct Stream copies the video part, no encoding), Under the Streams tab highlight the first audio stream and disable it and set the second stream to Direct Stream by right clicking it to get its menu. From your description of what happens when you play the file on the TV I know the italian audio is the first one, thats the one to disable.
Finally select the File tab and then Save As and save the file as a new name, I often click on the original file name and then just add something before the .avi like "new". Test it out, was the English audio the second one?

Yup ;) I'm very familiar with these sites and spend quite a bit of time there (esp. VideoHelp and Afterdawn). I come to MG first usually when I have questions.... I already have VDubMod so I'll give it a go....
    Thanks!
