avira anti virus not working or updating

Hi

I have just followed the malware removal steps (again and everything seems to be working. However I have downloaded Avira antivirus/spyware combo and it is not allowing me to update telling me "scheduler has not been started". The Antivir guard is stopped and I cannot work out how to start it. I have tried to reinstall the .exe file using repair function but still no joy

I am still having problems especially at startup. Very slow. Hard drive clicking away. takes about 15 minutes before I can do anything properly

Before doing malware removal PF usage was very high at 1gb. Now it is down to 500mb. But svchost .exe was hogging CPU this morning. I am attaching logs from malware removal I did about a week ago. combofix seemed to be the one that sorted things out at the time.
At the moment I am running avast anti-virus, pc tools firewall plus, spyware terminator. I have spybot and spyware blaster to run on demand.
