Avira has really slowed down this PC

In the last couple of months, you guys assisted me after I received a BSOD & numerous errors when shutting down. The problem was the version of Avast I was using so I uninstalled it (using the uninstall tool downloaded from this website) and switched to Avira. The problem now is that Avira has REALLY slowed the performance of this PC to a crawl. I am pretty confident Avira is the problem since the slow performance started the same day that I started using it. Also, several times when shutting down, a box has popped up advising that the program (Avira) is ending. I'm not sure why it's doing that.....

I had AVG several years back, but got rid of it when it did not remove a virus. That is when I switched to Avast, but as indicated above, I have had problems with it. (Neither were downloaded from your website since that was prior to my discovering you.) Now Avira is causing problems too. I'm not sure which free antivirus software to try now so any suggestions you could make would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

 

I Personally recommend folk to use Comodo.....

It is an all in one suite and is very light on system resources, I have just left it to it's default settings and it has been perfect for me (and others on this site )
