Good evening! I've followed the instructions for removing malware, and have attached the files from RogueKiller, Hitman Pro, MBR Check, and MGTools. I can't seem to locate the logs from TDSS Killer, which I had run earlier, using the instructions from one of the other Bablylon posts. In any case, it seems the HitmanPro was the only one to pick off the Babylon items, while RogueKiller found some other surprise!

OK - so, how should I proceed?

BY the way - a sincere Thank You for such a great website, it's great to know you guys are out there!! Thanks!:cool

Let HitmanPro delete all it finds. Then also run the below.

    Hiya Kestrel!

OK - I let Himan take down the Babylon trash it found. Then i ran the Junkware tool. Strange, it automatically deleted several items (see attachment), and then reset my IE8 homepage to Google.

Anyway, let me know what to do next.

    As always - THANK YOU!!!! - AOL:major

    Good afternoon Kestrel!

Pretty much! Seems to be faster as well! - although in the other user accountss on my PC, I see that Babylon still appears as a search option, in the "search" window to the upper right of the IE8 toolbar. It doesn't let me disable it. Granted, I can simply switch to Bing or something else when I use that search , but it is still annoying. As this is a Windows XP Professional system, with 5 different user accounts, should I execute the full series of steps for each user profile? Or can I get away with just running the Hitman Pro, or RogueKiller, from each of the non-admin profiles? The other accounts "should" not have the ability to download or install programs.

Let me know your thoughts - thanks again for all your help!!! - AOL:)

Yes, run JRT, RogueKiller and Hitman on each and then see if you still have the issue.

    Buenos tadres Kestrel!

OK - first, would you mind resending the link to JRT? For some reason, the link in the thread below isn't working!

Second - I"ve attached the TXT file from Hitman; it seems to be unable to remove the Babylon from this particular User ID. Thoughts?

    Third - Hope you're having a good weekend! Thanks! - AOL:confused

http://imageshack.us/a/img841/7292/thisisujrt.gif Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
    • Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
    • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Seven, right-mouse click it and select Run as Administrator.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Attach JRT.txt to your next message.

    Guten Tag Kestrel!

OK - I set up the other user account as an Administrator, and ran the JRT first, then Hitman Pro. Loks like that did the trick! Here's the results... Do you think I need to do this for all of the accounts on the computer? I wish I didn't have to set them up as Admins to run the scans.

As always, a sincere Thank you! If you're ever in Napa, I'd be happy to buy you a drink!

    Have a great day! - AOL:cool

    Good, good. :)

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Go back to step 4 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 6 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
