    Hello folks,

While downloading some video extensions, I managed to get the Babylon search (read hijacker) on my Win7 system.

Thinking it was a mini pain, I first uninstalled it and then went into Program files and deleted folder. Then into registry and hand deleted all babylon associations.

Then ran ccleaner to clear out what might be left. Then ran Malwarebytes. Then ran SuperAntiSpyware. Both MB and SAS report nothing found.

That got much of it, I thought. However, the Babylon search is still appearing when I open a new tab.

So I have downloaded and run RogueKiller, Hitman and Mgtools. I am attaching the logs.

Would one or more of you terrific folks review and advise please?

    Thank you so much.

    Update,

It seems to have cleared off of IE and Chrome, but still on Firefox.

You need to attach the 4 logs requested from the below tools (whether anything is found or not ):
    • Malwarebytes
    • RogueKiller
    • Hitman Pro
    • MGtools
However typically if Firefox is the only browser with a problem, you need to uninstall Firefox, reboot, delete all Firefox folder ( don't forget the appdata one ) and then reinstall.

Not seeing any signs of Babylon on IE! I will have to assume your problems are related to using Firefox as your browser. Is that correct?

    Delete the below file:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins\babylon.xml

Do you know if you got Babylon from this >>> Freecorder Toolbar

Can you delete the below folders?
    C:\ProgramData\Babylon
    C:\Users\Merryvale\AppData\Local\Temp\BabylonToolbar

You need to uninstall the below outdated Java versions now:
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 11
    Java(TM) 6 Update 26
    Java(TM) 6 Update 6

Now install the current version of Sun Java from: Sun Java Runtime Environment

No copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixme.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

    Please download OTL by OldTimer.
