Back from the hospital

What a long day. 3hrs in the room before they even got her back for surgery. They said 2-5 hrs for the procedure. I give the lady my cell number tell her I am just outside the waiting room on the couch. I check in every hour to see if there is an update, they just blow me off tell me to come back later....

After numerous checks and 5 hrs later, my wife calls me from her bed. I was freaking pissed but what are you gonna do.

She is doing pretty good for now. Should have her back tomorrow hopefully. Gotta wait for 2 weeks to get the official word. Surgeon is pretty sure its malignent. I just hope the course of treatment is going to be easy. Im not sure how much more of this I can take at the moment. When someone mentions cancer and you have little kids, it really puts things into perspective.

Our Life Group thru church has been a great help. They are checkingon us and bringing meals by the house. Which is a great help. I also want to thank everyone for all the prayers and kind words. It means alot and reading them has gotten me thru quite a few rough spots the last week.

Well, im off to bed and get some sleep hopefully. When I get some more info, i'll post it.

Blues, even if it is cancer, that's not the final word on it. Did the surgeon say he got it all? My mother has had two unrelated cancers, 30 years apart. In both cases, the doctor got it all and there were no further problems with it. Even if he's NOT sure he got it all, treatment today for most cancers is way better than in years past.

Scary times bro, but not hopeless times. God bless you both.

As GT said, cancer research has come a long way. The waiting is the hardest. Take care of your wife, your children and yourself. I am glad you have some help thru the church.

Malign or not, there is a fair chance the doctors are going to be able to do something about it. I don't know the full story, but once they know what they are dealing with, you are one step closer to treatment and thus cure.

I am keeping my fingers crossed.

 

Still prayin here man. Wish i had something that might seem helpful, the only thing that comes to mind is Psalm 39:7 But now, O Lord, upon what am I relying? You are my only hope!

 

My prayers are with your family also.

She's home and doing pretty good for now. Trying to keep the pain under control. Have to meet with the surgeon, endocrynologist, pathology, nuclear medicine and possibly oncology next week. Just got to make it till tuesday, should know the results by then.

Thanks everyone for all the kinds words and prayers. Im back at the day job today and pretty wiped out. I gotta get 3 more days off next week to deal with all the dr appts and other stuffs....

Been thinking about you and your wife and family. Just found out my grandma has to go for a breat biopsy for possible cancer.

Hoping the pain is gettting easier for you wife. Also praying things turn out in a postive manner.
