back up problems

Hi
purchased a 2tb hdd for my weekly back-up, and it came with arcsoft total media back up. Performed 3 back ups and then the hdd in my computer expired, tried to restore and it gives me the message that the program is not responding, so i purchased another copy of the software and tried a new back up from my 2tb hdd and it performed that OK when I wanted to restore, but the last back up that I need I cannot access any help would be greatly appreciated.
