a friend of Mrs Rumple is a doctors pa and has to type many medical words during her day's work. As they are not covered by a standard spellcheck she has to add them to the dictionary. When the machine goes belly up as pc's have been known to do on occasion, she loses all the input from the dictionary and has to start again. Does anyone know of a way to periodically save the dictionary to floppy etc to avoid all her lost work?

Go into find file and type "*.dic" Look for a file titled custom.dic or a .dic file in an office directory. In theory, you should just be able to copy that text file to a floppy disk and then recopy onto a new hard drive in the Office directory where the dictionary was originally located. I've never tried it myself but it should work considering when you open a dictionary manually it's just a list of words.
