I lost my subsciption to Norton Antivirus on my laptop and since I backed up to DVDs I thought everthing would be fine. I got sometype of a virus or worm infected my laptop so I reformated the HD and reloaded winXP now I have no recovery point file, but I have 22 *.gho files on my DVDs now is there any way to read these gho files because I have to recreate the rocovery point file. Or is there a program to read gho files to recreate the recovery point file?

.gho files are used by Ghost.
I think instead of formatting your hd, you should have possibly restored and recovered. You run ghost and feed the DVDs in and your computer goes back to the condition it was in when you made the DVDs.
Install Ghost, then run it saying you wish to restore an image. Feed the DVDs and your computer should be restored.

First install Ghost. (my version is 2003 so yours may be slightly different).
Run Ghost and click in the left column until you get to Utilities.
Select Norton Ghost Boot Wizard in the right column to create a boot CD.
Reboot the CD with the Ghost CD in the drive. Then select restore image when Ghost loads. In the drop down box, select the drive where you have the first .gho DVD. (It can be the same drive where you had the boot u CD; you can take that out because Ghost is loaded into a RAM disk and doesn't need the CD).
