    Hello, sammyg10

The below fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for issue(s) on this machine. Also, please do not install any other software while we are still working with you unless instructed. Once we have given you the all clean and final instructions you will be free to install what you want.

    Note:
You are way out of date with your version of SUPERAntiSpyware.
    • Please uninstall your current version (this is necessary).
    • Then download this SUPERAntiSpyware
    • Install this new version. It may tell you that you need to reboot to complete the installation. You must reboot at this time.
    • After the reboot, run SUPERAntiSpyware and immediately click the Check for Updates button to get more updates for the database.
    • Now run a new full scan of your system. And attach this new log.

    Question:
What can you tell me about --->
    S4 vvdsvc;VJVodServices;c:\windows\System32\svchost.exe -k vvdsvc [2004-08-03 14336]

    Step 1:
Please look in Add/Remove Programs for the following and uninstall if found. If you get any errors just make a note and proceed
    Step 2:
Run this Disable/Remove Windows Messenger to remove Windows Messenger. Do not confuse Windows Messenger with MSN Messenger because they are not the same. Windows Messenger is a frequent cause of popups.

    Step 3:
Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
NOTE: HJT may popup an error about the AppInit_DLLs line. Ignore it and click OK to continue.

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

    Step 4:
Now we need to use ComboFix to remove some malware.
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix. *Remember to re-start them before coming back online.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below code box into it (make sure you scroll all the way down in the code box to get all lines selected ):
    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
If it asks you to overide the previous file with the same name, click YES.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
      http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif
    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below

    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    Step 6:
    Run Ccleaner

    Step 7:
Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

Then attach the below logs to your next reply:
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
    • C:\combofix.txt
    • SAS log

Make sure you tell me if you had any problems running this procedure and give a description of how things are working now!

    Thanks for all your help.

I reinstalled the SuperAnti Spyware and rescanned the machine. The machine found 9 items (see log) that it fixed.

I have downloaded a few P2P softwares that allow me to watch streaming TV online. They include TVAnts, SPVOD, P2P etc. After reading your post, I uninstalled all of them.

Apologies on missing out the Viewpoint Media uninstallation. Performed that next.

Ran the tool you suggested to remove Windows Messenger.

The HijackThis tool ran fine and fixed the two things you had suggested.

For the CFscript.txt, I am unable to scroll down the text you had pasted. To make sure, I copied 3 lines of file names and three lines of registry entries. Kindly let me know if you had posted a longer list.

The ComboFix ran the first time and asked me to write down three file names.

    senekamjgeiyir.sys
    senekafwytdyfq.dll
    senekapxexwbav.dat

The computer restarted and then finished running ComboFix. However, no logs were produced. (weird!) I DID NOT notice this and ran the remaining tests (CCleaner and GetLogs.bat).

After no being able to find the ComboFix.txt, I ran it again. I had remake the CFscript.txt file and drag and drop it into ComboFix. When it ran the second time, I saw the name of the files above as the ones that are deleted as part of the process.

After the comp restarted, I now have a log.

I reran CCleaner and the GetLogs.bat file.

Please see attached the logs you requested. Thank you.

Since my first post (3 days ago), I have not connected to the internet (unplugged the cable). I want to make sure the logs are clean before I connect. I use my laptop to download anything and transfer it to the infected PC.

In the meantime, I have received a message (Gen32 Host Services terminated unexpectedly). As I press okay, another window pops up saying I need to shut down the system. Something like NT\SYSTEM has been terminated and system needs to reboot. To disable that, I go to Start-> Run and type "shutdown -a" (without quotes) to allow me to work.

As of the last batch of fixes that you recommended, this has not happened again.
