    Hi

    I'm new to this forum.

    I got About.com et all

I have gone through the directions as detailed in Readme first before asking for support. "Basic spyware, trojan and Anti Virus Removal. by Major Attitude"
However I did make a mistake . When printing it out I missed the part Virus and Trojan Scanning.

I finished the opperation and still had the virus. re reading the instructions I noticed my mistake. I then lost IE. Running monzila I did the online scan. Trend was fine. Symantic said the connection was incorrect. I proceeded with the instructions. I allowed Trend to fix remove what it could abd located the remainder and deleated them. Also from the recyle bin. Did the same with all the remaining proceedures.

Restarting the machine in regular mode. I attempted to run an access program I got the following message.

"A prolem occured while Renovationd Magazine Nervous Systesm was communicating with the OLE server or ActiceX Control

Close the OLE server and restaer it outside of renovations nervous system. Then try the original operation again in Renovations magazine Nervous System."

"Renovations Magazine Nervous System" is an access system through which everything for the company runs.

In addition I have lost outlook for e-mail.
I also can not copy files accros the machine.
When I attempt to open Internet Explorer I get Windows cannot find iexplorer.exe
clicking on Serach for files and folders brings no responce.
My toolbar which used to show the open files now does not.

I located "I think because I have ticked it" Network security Service and disabled it. I can not find it now.
Also Remote Procedure call (RPC) Helper and disabled it but again I can not find it now. Also in services.msc highlighting any other file/action /properties gives no responce.

I checked all the files listed in Hijack this in excite. They were all OK.

I am sure this is just a small file which I can find but it seems to hold it all together.

Sorry that I did not follw your instructions better. I hope you can help me.

    I use a P4 with windows XP

I will use mail2web to read my e-mails for the moment till this is sorted.

    Thanks in advance

    Jackly Kenna

You message was a little hard to follow. Are you trying to say you have an about:blank hijack (not about.com)?

If so and if you have follow all the steps in the READ ME FIRST, follow the steps below:

    - Download HijackThis 1.99.1

    - Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

    - Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

    - Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

    - Run HijackThis and save your log file.

    - Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).
