Bad images everywhere

About 5 days ago my computer started acting very odd. Whenever it was turned on it said that applications couldn't be written. Then my AVG started getting hundreds of hits from rootkits. So I start to think this is a little more then I can handle without help. So I come here and start going through the steps that I have to do to post. I get to the step where I have to set my startup to normal. I do that and all hell breaks loose. My computer crashed right then and now when I turn it back on all I get is the message

Ehtray.exe - bad image
The application or DLL is not a valid windows image. Please check against installation disk.

I can't download, install, or run anything. The only thing I can do is click ok on the error box and it will move on to another application that has a bad image. I stopped hitting ok on my 15 different app. I don't know what to do. Safe mode make no difference and neither does system restore. I am writing this from my iPhone so that is how bad my comp is. Thanks in advance for any help.

 

I finally was able to force my way on and get my logs done, going to post them without being sure if this is correct way of doing things. been trying for a while don't want to miss it


only problem I can really see now is that whenever I try and start windows I have to choopse between windows media (which is what I am supposed to be using) and windows <default> which errors until I choose the media version. if you can find anything that needs to be fixed in my log or can tell me how to fix my startup I will love you guys for ever (I already do you have saved my bohunkles on many occasssions I just can't remember my other login) thanks again in advance
