Bad problem

I an running Win 2K PRO SP6, I think. Some where, I have picked up some kind of bug that is slowly disabling my machine. First it stopped the printer access. Next, it disabled access to any of my CD and DVD drives, (3). Then it stopped access to the antispyware programs, such as AdAware, Spybot Search & Destroy, and Spyware Blaster.

I downloaded the W2kFiles.exe, locate.zip, and RegSrch.zip and tried to follow the instructions. The RegSrch.vbs file is only opened by Notebook.exe, and does not run by it's self.

What is your best guess as to the kind of bug infection on my machine, and how do I get rid of it?
