A friends comp. is a Dell xps t700r Win98se that he is having a problem with and needs help. The comp. has 128 mb ram which shows correctly in comp. properties but as it boots it shows only 32 mb. Ram going bad or what? any ideas. Thanks

So win reconizes the ram as the total 128 but the bios only sees 32 right

Are you sure your not looking at video card memory, the first thing to be shown after you turn it on?go into bios "press whatever it says to enter bios, usually del"disable quick power on self test, when the comp reboots you should see the memory rising as it is checking it,this is the amount of memory you have 128mb,reboot,then turn quick power on self test back on.

You are right Rikky. I guess that's what happens when i try to work on 3 different computers at the same time. I am now working on one at a time but still going loonie tunes. Thanks
