my computer has been acting up recently. disk read errors, 2 bsods, and now just recently said that I'm missing system/config. changed the motherboard, power supply, fan, she's damn near brand new and now all of this stuff. The lady who built it said that since I have a LCD on it now I may need a new video card in a few months, but nothing drastic. What are the signs of a bad video card anyone?

Well for starters, a bad video card wouldn't display anything. Sounds like you are having issues with windows, not hardware.

Sounds your hard drive may be bad, or your OS has gotten screwed up. You might try a repair install, or play around with the recovery console (if you have WinXP). Do you have another hard drive you can try in it?
