Bailout??!Bail ME out!!

Hey, I know this is way simplistic, and probably wicked lame, but if they divied up some of that 700 BILLION among people losing their houses, or trying to pay off mortgages, wouldn't it make the root problem kind of academic? I mean, why not go right to the source and inject some money directly back into the economy at the ground level... I know there was a kind of funny email re:this circulating today, but it didn't get to me- anyone have it? Crap i just ate a cold french fry that beer spilled on.... might be time for bed.... On another level, earlier I was frustratedly trying to port XP to an external hard drive to externally boot my eee, while eating a cold double QP w/cheese, and smoking a Marlboro- that has GOT to be quintessential definition of the word "geek". Failed at THAT mission tho- any eee people out there that have been there-done that? :confused

Thank you . Well I have been trying to get a JOB in this jobless economy and I have been putting much time into my kids and I am also working on a separation from my wife . It has been a tough year for me and looks like it is going to get much tougher for me . and well this is why I have been away for a while .

 

I feel you there Crash. I have a 'job' but not a career. Looking myself.

I am a career truck driver that can not find work ( other than over the road ) I can not do over the road I hate it , But I just might have to suck it up , I am really not that good at driving 11 hours and sleeping in a moving truck 24/7 .

 

Maybe we should partner up and drive around.:-D

I can drive a standard pick-up, but not a big truck...

 

LOL , I hate it . I like local runs but there is just nothing in that area now . Most long hauls are taking all the local jobs now that the price of fuel is through the roof . I would like the government to bail me out now .

 

Crash, you are my new hero! (Hi Fred_G!), that picture is absolutely the best. Also, I deeply feel for what you are saying. And you must be hit so hard in your line of work by the falsely inflated gas prices. The economy where I live has been horrible since the mills took all the jobs overseas in the 70's- the government did NOTHING to stop that and save the jobs of an entire state. Since then this place has going on 4 generations of welfare, I have never seen so many broken families, drunken-ness and drugs are the pastime in the towns around me- I think I will be the only person in my entire building to vote, which may very well be a good thing, as no one I talk to even has a clue how our government works (and 2 are felons anyway and have lost that privilege)... The economy has been slowly building up here over the past 10 yrs, then they went insane and started pricing houses that were going for $35-40,000 at over $200,000, in an area where the average wage is $7.50 per hour. Most people around me won't notice the change, certainly not the THREE young adults in my bldg alone who are on SOCIAL SECURITY (can't figure out HOW or WHY, and that is just in my apt bldg alone, this is SOO common around here), but those of us who were slowly crawling out of a hole for something better will slide farther back in... I'm just hoping I can hold on long enough to move back to Massachusetts and back through the looking glass, because this place would break your heart and your spirit, and unfortunately I am afraid it is indicative of a lot of the American "Heartland" these days.
