Bare Bones Browser?

I am looking for a bare bones browser. I absolutely HATE tab browsing... especially when 3214 different browsers make me change settings 3243 different ways to stop it from opening links in new tabs vs new windows etc.

What do I want? I would like a browser that is similar to IE around 4 years ago or so where I could make the top of my browser take up as little space as possible. I could choose which of the 3213 useless quick buttons i wanted and disable all others. (remember... add remove buttons) but again... i don't want so many lines.

I had 1 line that had the address bar and my google search bar on the SAME line. and the second and a pull down for my favorites and then a spot where I could drag the most used sites to my bar at the top (still on the second line).

I don't give a shit about tab browsing. I hate it. I have exactly zero times where i find it useful. And the addition of it causes it to take up space.

Again... I can't have the google options AND have my "home" "mail" options without having a 3rd line of shit at the top of my screen.

Edit: Google toolbar has an option called "Get more buttons" Jesus H. very soon 50% of our screens will be covered with useless buttons. "hey I may use this once per 21 years and I want it visible and available all the time!"

Another example I hate. Google now has this "search while you type" function. I love it.... all but the part where there is no Static top of the screen. As it narrows your seach.. the screen changes and narrows. God i hate that.

My main browser is K-Meleon for it's speed. It's only a couple of clicks to disable Tabs.

Even with Tabs, toolbars don't have to take up much screen estate.

Google's Chrome browser can easily be configured to show only the web address box and a top row for tabs. That's about as minimal as it gets, I'd say, as far as space being consumed at the top of a browser window.

As far as turning off tabs in Chrome, I don't believe it can be done.

That's all that my Opera has showing. And fast to boot.
Add the Speed Dial and have 25 favorites in one spot.

Palemoon browser. Identical to Firefox but faster. http://majorgeeks.com/Pale_Moon_Project_d6613.html

One can tweak to have only 1 toolbar shown at the top. See this link on how to do it: http://www.tweakguides.com/Firefox_6.html

Of course, one can remove the tab bar by going to Tools, Options, Tabs, untick "always show the tab bar", OK.

I had an addon in Firefox "Tiny Menu" that put all from File to Help in one button but I use those features often so I uninstalled it. Also that I have Smart Bookmarks Bar (favorites) shown as the next toolbar down, though as per my choice.

Firefox/Palemoon can be tweaked to death, that's why I love these browsers.

    Pic to show.
