I have a laptop running Win7 and a laptop running XP(Home, I think - it's not with me, and I just realized it might be important).

What is the easiest way to network them in order to access each other's files and to share one printer? Both laptops are wireless, and both have connected to other networks.

If I need to get a router, what would work best? I've also heard I could use a cross-over cable, which I've tried, and can't get to work. I feel like I'm missing something small.

Can someone please tell me, start to finish, how to network these two computers?

    Thank you in advance!

You may go for wireless router's antenna technology which offers best wi-fi range and signal. I am currently using it and it is very effective.
