Battlefield Vietnam Online Help?! PLEASE?!

I have AOL cable modem and i can't figure out how to get online with it if anyone knows anything about this please help me out.

I play tiger woods golf 04 online all the time. all i have to do is sign on and then go to the game then it'll connect and i can play. but i don't think i had to type in any server numbers or anything but bf does and i don't know what to do. i saw the someone put a server online and said it was a good one so i took it and typed it in along with the port number, signed on and then went back to the game and clicked join and it searches and then fails. I NEED HELP!! I very close to taking this game back to EB and probably will if i can't get it online.

 

Do you have a firewall software or hardware attached to your comp?
Do you have a router?

 

Yeah i have a wireless linksys router and i do have firwall software. but i have played on the internet with tiger woods.
