BDTools.net Conficker Tool

Hi,

Has anyone here used the network tool for conficker that can be downloaded from bdtools.net?

I've a few machines on my network that are reporting Conficker and I'm experiencing some slow down on my network. I've too many machines to feasibly go round them all and scan them manually so I need a good tool that will run over the network and clean them up. The BDtools.net tool looks really good and seems very user friendly.

However most machines I try to run it on fail and return the message "The file replication service cannot be stopped." Some have worked fine though.

There seems to be very little information on the net about this program.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

No we have no personal info on the network version of the tools from BitDefender. We primarily have single users or small networks user posting for help here and typically have done manual cleanup on them without requiring special Conficker cleaning tools. The cleaning occurs as part of our default cleaning process.

If you are having difficulties with the network version, you may have answered your own question. Since Conficker infections impact network access and also can infect other PCs on the network, perhaps it may not even be a good idea to perform cleaning via network access. Most AV companies recommended disconnecting the infected PCs from the network while cleaning. I suggest that you also make sure the server is well protected and has all updates for Windows installed.
