Beginning

I am not sure what I want to do when I grow up 100% yet, it's a cross between programming, architecture, and graphic designer.

Programming is probably in the lead, and I'm 17 now, and it's blatently obvious that I need to start sometime, could anyone give me tips on hwere to start? maybe a good book to read? Or a thread on this forum, thanks. Appreciate it

what is it exactly that you will want to program? there are loads of different languages out there to learn, all used for different things. how much do you know so far? programming takes time and effort. im learning visual basic in college and i like it, if your planning on learning by yourself then id say get a book or two, their much better than all these websites, in my opinion anyway. internet is great for source code tho.

If you like programming, the best way to start is Visual Basic. It's an expensive program but It's how I started learning and if you get a good website/ book it will teach you all the basics. Learning HTML and CSS for a website isn't a bad way to start either but it's not really "programming" as much as web design. If you wish to start there www.albinoblacksheep.com has an excellent series of tutorials in their tutorials section that you can understand very easily. (Just make sure to start with HTML tutorials BEFORE CSS or you will be lost.)

As far as graphic design goes, just start fooling around in photoshop with some basic tutoirals. Google is the name of the game. EDIT: Oh, and if you don't feel like paying for photoshop, got the GIMP route. It's free and is almost as good, but it might leave a Linux-y aftertaste in your mouth if your not used to the interface.
