This has been dominating the news here for a couple of months now and it makes me so angry that these priests and bishops (who will not even say sorry) have not been treated the same as any other pedophile and thrown into jail to await trial but are instead allowed to walk free to wait for the pope to decide what to do with this case.

BRUSSELS—Belgium's Catholic Church fears a raft of US-style costly settlement claims after an unprecedented pedophile priest scandal, a leading bishop said on Tuesday.

A Church-backed commission last week revealed hundreds of abuse cases and 13 suicides linked to the decades-long scandal, identifying 91 accused priests who are still alive.

And I thought only we had perverted priests! I can't say how your problem will be resolved, but we had a very similar case here in Mississippi about 2 years ago. The catholic church 'paid off' the boys with a pretty healthy amount of money and the priests were re-assigned! The 'true' amount paid was never disclosed, but one of the boys told a local reporter that he received around $250,000. (there were 6 priests and 19 boys involved) There were NO criminal charges brought against the perverts, not even ONE night in jail, only re-assignment to churches in 'other states!' I guess there is some truth to the old addage that 'if you have enough money, you can buy your way out of anything!' The catholic church proved that.

 

One of those cases I hate to see and wish (they'd get punished with some good butt whooping) themselves and sent to prison where prison does there touch on child pervs. We've got many in the world IMO that are like this and we dont know or wont know. The sad thing is people I know that go to church and do the whole thing wont admit that they are christains or whatever religion. They say that priest isnt or that person thats been in church for 25+ years each sunday isn't. They are and they are sick in the head
