Hi can anyone tell me if I'm wise in going with belkin for my wireless router and pcmcia card? They're the cheapest and seem to work with macs and linux as well as windows which would be a real plus for my sister who has an ibook with a wifi slot!
I'm doing some sales shopping tomorrow with £100, roughly $150, and need a 54g wireless router for cable/dsl modems and a pcmcia card with 54g. Any other brands i should look out for?

    Hi,

I have the Belkin wireless 54g ADSL modem/router and have 5 lap tops/desktops using it from all over the house and outside when its warm. Its very easy to set up. The only downside I have found is that the logging is not as good as the Netgear equivalent but then again I guess that is factored into the price.

OK just got the linksys 54g router (WRT54G) and 2 Buffalo 54g cards. Installed the cards fine and they can pick up the signal from the router however they cannot connect to the net! Any ideas?

Belkin Wireless when they work, they work OK.

Problem seems to be poor QA. I.e. at times I end up exchanging units that are dead while they are first installed.

Once you get a working Unit it lasts for long time.

got my wireless net working at last! Isn't it great to just be able to go where you like around the house and still sit on the net and msn??!!!

I have tried Belkin wireless cards, and returned them soon after installation. They would just drop for no reason and lose the configuration, SSID, WEP constantly. So my vote would be they are awfull.

Yeh I didn't get any Belkin, got a linksys WRT54G router and 2 Buffalo 54G cards for a decent price and they're working great. :)
