Bellsouth DSL6mb bottleneck help

Hi, i just went from comcast cable, To bellsouth DSL... they said i could run 6mb, they tested it and it was true.. when i go to speakeasy.net the most i get is 2.2-2.6 , so i tried to uninstail firefox, internet excplore.. update... nothing changed.. I then went to a diffrent PC in the home, went to Speakeasy.net and that PC was at 5.7-6.1mb witch is great, it has a wireless G card,
Now SOmething is bottlenecking my PC They put a USB wireless Hub on my PC, since i was hotwired with comcast with no wireless card, SO i was thinking.. does it have to do with my UBS drive? i went to asus and d/led the ethernet drive.. and nothing really helped.. it did jump up alittle bit when i did that...

SO my question is, how would i fix this problem... would a complet format work? Comcast does not have any software for Cable, they plug in the modem thats it... "or so they told me"

so i took the pc out of my room and when i used a lan cable i'm at 5.8-6.1 . I tested USB wireless again, and A Wireless G card.. both bottleneck at 2.6 asus said there USB drive isn't at fault... they just said interference... so i formated.. went pretty easy, went and got a 50ft lan cable drilled a hole in my celling and i took care of it gangsta style ... my friend is a network smart guy.. or w/e there called... he was on the phone with me for 1 hour tryin to figure out how laptops ontop of my pc would run at 5.8 but i can't....

Turns out no one knows lol so if u read this and had a problem like mine.. get a really long lan cable.. its 30-50 bucks cheaper then a wireless boost ranger ... or w/e its called..
