It is time to install Windows on a fresh PC. I remember reading something, though the details currently elude me, that talked about the benefits of partitioning a Windows drive. Keeping your programs on a separate partition, or maybe it was a separate drive, than your Windows PC. Can anyone tell me the benefits of doing this?

I have a partition just for movies - not programs. When I image, the image is smaller because I don't image the "entertainment" partition of the hard drive. It saves me both time and size on the portable hard drives where I have images stored.

I hadn't considered the size of the images for regular backups. That is actually a seriously good reason to do it. Thank you so much plodr ^_-

First thing I do is move all my personal folders to a separate partition - Docs, Music, Pics, Downloads, Videos. Huge time and space saving when imaging, which I do monthly.
