Hi, I had a post in here last year and "tgell" was kind enough to give me the support site for my Benq EW 162i External burner. I know I am talking about an antique, but it worked well.
I did a d/l of that support site and had it on my laptop.......however the site seems now not to be available and I am uncertain where to turn even after googling as I am not sure of the safeness of other sites that offer assistance?

What occurred, was one of my amateur colleagues at work (end user like myself) suggested that I "uninstall the drivers" on my Benq and do a reinstall to see if I could cure the "stopping and starting of the burner.
I did this and did not even think about the burner disappearig from my laptop, which of course it has while before it was listed uner "My Computer" and as well listed as "working" in Device Manager".
Now I don't know where to safely find drivers to reinstall the burner and hope that someone might be able to help me with this problem that I have created for myself.
    Thank you

Thx, I did refer back to that old thread and the Links, however don't seem to give me information as they did in the past and so that is why I decided to do this post.
I tried googling but the sites that I found were non-Benq and I was uncertain as to their secureness.
So I am wondering if there are any safe download sites for this unit. One site that I looked at the d/l and it was for a flash and the only option that I have is my internal burner and that is not what I want to do.
Since I did an uninstall, my Benq of course is gone. I should have checked here before I listened to friend's advice and then went to the Links that are that thread and found nothing.

I am still hopeful that someone may know where I should look.

I have the Benq plugged in but it of course does not show up b/c the drivers are gone is that a correct assumption?
I hope the question does not sound odd, but I am an amateur re hardware connectivity etc.

Sorry, I did not realize Benq not only doesn't archive drivers but doesn't even list the model you have on the website.
I can't suggest a site that I trust to grab them.

I usually archive drivers I think I might need if no disk is supplied with the hardware.

Hi, thx for the ongoing interest, I appteciate it. I do have the disk for the Benq but each time I put it in the drive it reads on the Window that it is not for this machine? I am still using windows xpsp3 but on a newer computer that I did the d/l onto last year. But that d/l was from that European site.
