Honestly...neither. I think they are both as effective as the other though if you are going to go with either.

But why would you want to pay for a huge resource hog when you can get good ones for free?

I see, I usually use the free ones as well. I was curious to see what others thought of nod32 and mcaffe.

My thoughts, the free ones are usually less bloated and surprisingly work better than some of the paid products.

Hmmmm.... another virus discussion with no mention of the excellent Avira AntiVir. The free version is excellent and I've been using for about 3 years, since version 6.0. They also have varying levels of paid products and if I was going to pay for virus protection, I would buy their top-of-the-line application for home users, Avira Premium. Here's a list of all the different products they have available:

The free version is available right here at Major Geeks http://www.majorgeeks.com/AntiVir_Personal_Edition_8_d955.html

But I guess if I had to choose between McAfee and NOD32, it would definitely be NOD32. The full version of the all-in-one McAfee is one of the greatest resource gobbling programs of all time. I have seen PCs where McAfee has 16 different processes running in the background at all times!!! I barely have that many processes running in total!!

    Anyway.... just my two cents....
