    There is a few to choose from Libre Office, Open Office, WPS Office, Softmaker FreeOffice. Also there is G Suite which runs in google chrome browser. I am also another vote for LibreOffice as it's lightweight on system resources.

    LibreOffice; not all of us want to have to go on the internet just to read and write some doc or docx files.
    I also use it to open xls and xlsx files.
