Best Free Cookie App ?????

Have been deleting my cookies, temp files, and history in Internet Options. Would appreciate some information what would be the best FREE application to keep the ones you want, and get rid of the ones you don't want. Nothing too complicated or memory intensive.
Any info/links appreciated.

I second your motion, Chas CCleaner is the best I've seen.

 

Also you can try AnalogX's Cookiewall or CookieMonster if there are cookies that you would like to keep, like the Majorgeeks Forum cookie(s). CookieWall only works with IE, but Cookie Monster works with Mozilla, Opera, and IE. These two apps allow you to specify which cookies you want to keep and delete the rest. Spybot S&D also allows you to do the same thing in advanced mode.

I think I must be the only one who uses Cleanup! as no-one else seems to recommend it but I think it is great. Running all 3 above, catches most of the stuff you accumulate. All 3 are free, don't conflict with each other and are part of my daily maintenance after logging off the net. Bazza

Xflat, every time I run Cleanup! before, or after CrapCleaner, it finds stuff the other missed. Doesn't matter which is run first, each finds something the other missed. I run all 3 progs, as per earlier post, after every session. Bazza

I clicked on the link for cleanup and it states that is shareware and not freeware. Can you explain to me what you mean for free? I am just wondering if it keeps working whether you register or not?

Cleanup is up to version 3.1 and is definitely freeware.

This is the one I use and recommend in conjunction with CrapCleaner and EmpTemp.

Downloaded CrapCleaner. Terrific program. There was a lot of crap on the HD, and now it's gone.

Have a question re Cookies in Spybot SD. It says if you tick the cookies you want to keep it will do so. Well mine doesn't. Could there be some problem in my 'File Setup'. I have ticked a MajorGeeks cookie and it has disappeared after I have cleaned out with Internet Options. From what I understand it will keep cookies that are not 'tracking'.
Any info appreciated !!!!!!!!!

 

Maybe I didn't explain this well enough. The cookie from MG that I ticked in Spybot SD to ignore/keep disappeared when I cleaned out with Internet Options, before I even downloaded and set up CrapCleaner.

Since I have Spybot SD I thought i would control my cookies this way as had been suggested in this thread.

So could somebody please tell me the correct setup in Spybot and now CrapCleaner so that I can keep the cookies I want, or do I need another app to control the cookies???????

OK, will not use Internet Options. You command I obey !!! AI would be interesting don't have to do anything.............nah no fun.

Now have cookies.sbi - tracking cookies in Spybot SD ticked to clean. I saved 3 cookies. It only showed 3
In Crapclener I have Temp Internet Files and Cookies set to clean. I saved 4 cookies (which are the ones that I want to save).
In Windows Cookies I have the 4 cookies that show up in CrapCleaner, and that I want to save.
In Temporary Internet Files the same 4 cookies show up (have this ticked of to clean in CrapCleaner). Why are they still there ?

I'll be danged if this is not going to work. Are you willing to help me thru, or is it begging time............
Lord give me algebraic funtions they are easy compared to this........
I'm getting a complex, and may have to be hospitilized.

Decided to use CC for saving/keep cookies.
