Best program needed (DVD to MP4)

Hi all,

I found this forum and thought I'd see if anyone here could help me.

I have a very large collection of DVDs, all purchased by me. I am looking for the best software to convert my DVDs to MP4 files for my AppleTV. There are many programs out there, but most are garbage. Their output files might be fine on an iPod Classic, but I'm looking for MP4s that are high quality and can get 1280*720 dimensions with smooth playback. My network has 7.5 terabytes of storage so large files are not a problem.

Currently, I am using Aimersoft DVD Ripper. It works well, but I want something that works GREAT!

Any ideas?

Handbrake!

 

Handbrake is a great free program for video conversion. However, while it is free, it isn't very simple to use most of the time. If you don't mind spending the time doing a little learning, it can prove to be very effective.

DVDFab Platinum is a GREAT suite for doing what you want, and though it is a paid program, I feel it's worth the money for its simplicity and ease of use.
