    Hi,
Google used to allow users to search forums, then banned it.
What is the best way to enter something now into google and see mention of it in forums ?

I have added the Google chrome search discussions addon but nothing appears to use, in extensions its in there and live, but I can see no tutorial on youtube on how to use it.Maybe google have disabled it and banned any tutorials in you tube as well ?

Why dont google want us to have freedom of information, and search forums ?

Telling me I am not allowed to see what a forum has on something. Controlling me and my life in effect.

Go to the forum you want information from and use the search feature within that forum.

Some forums have turned off the ability for google to search because they don't want things posted. I go to several forums that do this for quite a few years. Searching from within the forum will work, even if google's scraping of info is not allowed.

I'm really struggling to understand your problem. I can enter almost anything I like into Google with Firefox (no addons) and get all the useful hits I could ever need. OK, if we were to get links to every question ever discussed on forums we would surely drown and find it near impossible to gain useful information.

    Be more selective, it helps.
    On Google......
    usb boot = 240M hits
usb boot forums = 42M hits
usb boot forums + Majorgeeks = 175K hits with MG's in the top 20 and beyond.

    Hi, Imandy Mann
where on the google chrome interface is the icon to click, can you talk me through it please.

    Earthling..
I wanted a book review and just what the forums were saying on it, no amazon, as I wanted a review by a like minded person, someone who had joined a forum specific to the subject matter, not knowing which forum might have a review section on books I dont have time to sort through and suss forums, I wanted to see a forum where it had been reviewed or simply discussed., I can soon tell from the review if someone 'knows their stuff' !
If I use google and put book title in and add the word review I just get loads of sites selling it, not just reviews from all sorts of non experts, and amazon with reviews which, following a prog about amazon, the reviews are false at times.

If I want a review on a garden blower, I want to hear what actual garden forum users have to say.

To say search a forum, I dont know what garden forums are best, I dont want to mess about joining forums, I just want to see what the forums have to say.

Just what was so bad about being able to search forums anyway google ?

    Try searching with DuckDuckGo.
I just searched for BMW forums (followed by rottweiler forums, and pot forums) and the results were impressive.
