BFG 7800GS OC AGP Nightmare! Help!

Bought BFG 7800GS OC card few days ago brand new
Upgraded from fx5500, which to be honest, worked OK. (could play all the latest games, but not on the highest settings)
I cannot get it to play AVI Video files!

Games are fine
DVD's are fines

BFG support no Use
I have a HP machine and they were no use

This is what I have done so far

Updated Bios
Updated Chipset drivers
Used Driver Cleaner to clear out old NVIDIA stuff
Installed lastes NVIDIA drivers

Still cant get it to work!

I have a P4 3.oghz HT, 1gb Ram
Can't see any reason why it is only these files, but get this, if i use Real player for example (this is same on other media progs btw) it starts playing the audion but the screen goes green, then if I drag the resizer I can see the video!!!!!!!!!!
So,eone help me cos I think I'm going Mad

 

For those of you out there having problems with this card, and i've seen quite a few
I have solved the problem!
K-lite codec pack resolved all the issues which can be downloaded from www.codec-download.com
I realised the problem when I installed the VLC media player.
The player is free and good because it steps around a lot of the traditional restrictions for playing video files. That led me to believe codecs were the problem.
Chalk one up for the little guy as BFG Support were stumped
