Bfg 7800gs

Ok,im pretty good with detecting problems and fixing them BUT this one has me stumped....
I have a BFG 7800GS(AGP) randomly viewing web pages playing games etc..it starts to make a chirping sound,and some times a sustained chirp/squeel......i have checked inside to see if there was anything odd going on(wires lose,waterblock loose etc..) And nothing is out of place everything is in working order....My GPU temps are 38C and never go higher than 60C(with a load). Nothing slows down or acts up..JUST AN ANNOYING CHIRP BEEP SQUEEL what ever you want to call it.....any suggestions?

 

This 'chirp, squeel' noise is coming from the vga itself and not from the speakers is that correct?

Can you clarify when it is that you hear this noise. It is just randomly across the board?

happens at random wether thres a load or not.....its coming from the VGA itself no speaker..and if im not mistaken it seems like its coming from the caps....

 

Could be the fan in the PSU!?!?

Hello Brian, I was lookin up info on the BFG 7800 GS OC AGP and found you with your system specs under your post. Blew me away!P4 1.0 at 3.8!! i have the same Mob and CPU as you, PC3200 corsair CMX512-3200LL and right now a FX5900XT 128MB. I wanted to ask u to help me overclock my stock P4 3.0 478 Northwood. I also maybe buying the 7800 but it maybe alittle while.

 

Could be your psu deing and not giveing the card the power it needs.

what kind of psu do you have and whats the high and low voltas of the +12 volt rail?
