Hi guys, I'm new in this site and the reason I came here is because I have a problem with my INTERNET EXPLORER and MSN and I think a malware may be involved.
For about 2 weeks I haven't been able to connect to the Internet using Internet Explorer, so I've been using Mozilla Firefox. I also haven't been able to connect to my messenger (I had installed msn 7.5) because it throws me a message box mentioning the 8004820 error. I tried to fix my msn but I couldn't so I installed the AMSN.
Recently a friend recommended me to use HijackThis because my connection problems could be related to a malware, but he also said that I should show the log to an expert, because is very dangerous to delete stuff you dont know, so now I'm gonna attached my log for you to check it.
Could all my problems be related to a malware?
I hope you guys can help me cause I'm going insane over this.

but that error message from MSN can be caused if your PCs time/date is not correct, also see my attached TXT file for some MSN troubleshooting steps.

    -------------------------------

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
    • Bitdefender
    • Panda Scan
    • HijackThis
