Big Time driver issue

    I dunno why, but for some reason today when installing nero, and after rebooting my desktop disappeared. and now I can only run in safe mode, which makes me think it is a driver issue. So I have no icons on my desktop and no task bar at the bottom... any advice? Thanks

    It will boot in normal mode only if there isn't a cd in the dvd drive.

    Strange ....uninstall nero ....do you have any other cd burning software installed?:)

    ya, everything that came with the LG dvd rom. I uninstalled nero and it doesn't work, I'll try to reinstall the software again I guess :S

    What programs came with the lg? .....some can create serious conflicts ...need to know which ones you have.:)

    powerDVD, PowerProducer, Nero Express, In CD, acrobat reader and Drive manual. I think one of them had a firmware update and it installed an update for the drive and then everything went wrong from there on in.

    I'm leaving work ....so, in the mean time, would uninstall all of them ,,,, then re-install only one ....see if your good .....(shouldn't have to worry about acrobat reader).

    trying too, its messed up big time... it wont uninstall any of them either... and I cd drive wont read any cds anymore

    I got it working.... InCd Was the culpret I believe... Nero is working fine. thanks for the help :D
