Big trouble: smitfraud-c, trojan.net-msv, etc

    I contracted malware installing a bad active-x.
    I ran Norton and SuperAnti spyware before going through your steps outlined on the READ and RUN first. However, I was unable to complete all of the steps.

    The problems are: cpu at 100%, continuous pop up windows security alerts stating system is affected, web browser opening up to spyware removal website, my task manager would not open due to administrator restriction that I did not set (I fixed this), inability to install software with message reading administrator settings will not allow installation.

    Some of the virus names I saw during scanning include:
    trojan.net-msv/vps-h
    torjan.net-msv/vps
    smitfraud-c.msvps

    I had problems within the outlined steps:
    Java update: i could not install the java update due to the administrative setting not allowing installation.
    I was not able to run Bitdefender. During installation I got a message that the program could not find Oscan81.ocx-x. The pop up asked me the location of the file on my computer.
    I did not save a log from Counterspy. It found two cookies which I deleted (sorry).

    I do have
    PandaActive Scan log (second post)
    GetRunKey (this post)
    ShowNew (this post)
    Hijack This (this post)

    However, for HijackThis I followed the instructions to install version 1.99.1 ad changing the name to analyzer. However the program would not complete. It would get hung up then get the (not responding) error.
    I ran the new Trend Micro HijackThis version 2.02 without changing the file name and it generated the log.

    I appreciate any help you can provide.

    Please use add/remove programs to uninstall:
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 10"
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6"
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 9"
    Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2_06
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 1
    PokerRoom.com (Remove only)

    Run HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    After clicking fix, exit HJT.

    Now download The Avenger by Swandog469, and save it to your Desktop.

    * Extract avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop
    * Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
    * Check the 'Input script manually' box.
    * Click on the magnifying glass icon.
    * Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it in the box that opens:

    * Now click the 'Done' button.
    * Click on the traffic light icon and OK the prompt.
    * You will be prompted to restart, OK the prompt and your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    * A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt

    Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune. This program does not require an installation. The executable actually runs the program.

    NOTE: This program is for Windows XP and Windows 2000 only. ATF Cleaner will remove all files from the items that are checked so if you have some cookies you'd like to save. Please move them to a different directory first.

    * Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
    * Under Main choose: Select All
    * Click the Empty Selected button.

    If you use Firefox browser

    * Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
    * Click the Empty Selected button.
    o NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

    If you use Opera browser

    * Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
    * Click the Empty Selected button.
    o NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

    Click Exit on the Main ATF Cleaner menu to close the program.

    Attach new logs for:
    ShowNew
    GetRunkeys
    HJT
    Avenger
